This recipe database is an online, community-built, recipe database. The program contains everything you need to submit recipes and everything your administrator needs to administer the recipes. When a visitor submits a recipe, the recipe is added to a database and awaits approval from the administrator before being added to the public site.
The long term goal of this Recipes project is to collaborate with all of you to eventually self-publish a Carpenter Family Cookbook. Ideally, each recipe should have some significance as a family favorite, or maybe even traditional or historical significance. You can type additional text at the end of the recipe after your instructions. It would be nice if you would include any anecdotal information at the end of the recipe itself to describe the origins of the recipe.
I looked at several options for collecting recipes. I chose this script, because it is very simple and will let me get this project off the ground in time for the holidays. Website visitors can submit their favorite recipes to the recipes database immediately. Go ahead and try it now. But remember this... You cannot edit the recipe after it has been submitted. Be sure to double check your spelling before you click submit. If you want to make a correction after you submit a recipe, just start over and submit the recipe again. I will delete the duplicate and keep the newest version.
