This is the Last Will and Testament of Conrad Carpenter. This document is significant because it is the only known document where George Zimmerman's first two sons, George and John Carpenter are named as half-brothers . which establishes the connection between George's first wife, name unknown, and his second wife, Ann Schöttly. This establishes the existence of a first wife and names all the known children of George Zimmerman Sr.

Will of Conrad Carpenter of Lincoln Co. Ky. probated in Lincoln Co. October 12,
1829 (Note the spelling of the name as Conrod thoughout this document.)
I Conrod Carpenter of Lincoln County and State of Kentucky do hereby make my last will & testament in manner & form following that is to say First I desire that all the perishable part of my estate be immediately sold after my decease and out of the moneys arising therefrom all my just debts & funereal expenses be paid.
Second it is my further will and desire that all my Landed Estate shall be sold by my Executors hereinafter named and all monies arising therefrom to be equally divided among my ten Brothers & Sisters and cash real and personal of what nature and kind soever it may be not herein above disposed of I desire may be equally divided making my half brothers and their heirs equal in full with my full brothers & sisters to wit The heirs of my half brother George Carpenter dec'd one equal part in full with any of my full brothers or sisters. Also my half brother John Carpenter dec'd heirs one equal part in full with my full brothers and sisters. Also the heirs of my brother Adam Carpenter dec'd one equal part in full, also my brother Henry Carpenter one equal part in full Also my brother William Carpenter one equal part in full Also my Sister Anna Carpenter now Anny Mellenbarger one equal part in full Also my sister Barbary Carpenter now Barbara Pence one equal part in full Also my sister Elizabeth Carpenter now Elizabeth Keblinger one equal part in full Also my sister Margaret Carpenter now Margaret Pence one equal part in full Also my sister Solema Carpenter now Solema Keblinger one equal part in full
And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friends Carrol Bailey and Station George Carpenter executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this 22nd day of August - 1829.

At a County Court holden for the County of Lincoln on Monday the 12th day of October, 1829, the last will and testament of Conrod Carpenter was presented into Court and proven by the oaths of John Russell, George L. Carter & John Spears then subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of George Carpenter and Carrol Bailey, the executors therein named, who made oath as the Law Directs, and who executed Bond in the penalty of Sixty Thousand Dollars until John Spears, George L. Carter, James Patton and John Carpenter, their securities with a proper condition ordered that a certificate be granted them for obtaining a probate of the said will in due form of Law.
